If on windows, the Xbox gaming stuff that comes up with windows + alt + g (I think it is like, gamebar or whatever) can capture a clip. It's for Xbox social features, but does save them out to a folder, even helps you find the clip. I've done that for quick "send this to a discord to show a bug/feature" moments. I am afk but I believe windows key + alt + r will start recording the active window right away if you have the feature allowed. (And stops)
