One thing as some people get older is a reluctance to do things they “should” already be able to do. I know someone in middle age who refused to learn to swim because they’d have been in a public pool and felt foolish.
I’ve been putting off going on bike rides forever, but have a 10yo. So today I put on my big boy shorts and just got back from only the second bike ride I’ve done since I was about 12. Very wobbly. Not much confidence. But it won’t be decades before the next one. 🚲
