It is also called the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Miracle, because inside it the French lawyer (and later priest) of Jewish origin Alphonse Marie Ratisbonne, would have had a Marian apparition on January 20, 1842. The fact, recognized by the Catholic Church, provoked the conversion of Ratisbonne to Catholicism.
