Amazing how I can admit that I wasn't clear in my intent in that message and then you... Immediately quote it as if it's contradictory evidence. I already said I probably could have been clearer and then clarified. This is just a willfully obtuse move.

Let me say this again. Maybe I should focus on using small words. Taxes are paid on profits. If you're paying taxes, you made money. Period. Unless the tax rate is OVER 100%, which neither I nor anyone else I've ever heard is recommending. So no matter what the tax rate is, no, they do not lose money. They make less money.

Since you're having trouble with the concept, I'll simplify a bit more. If you were going to make $100 but taxes go up and you only make $80 or $60 or even as low as $20... You still made money. You just didn't make as much as you wanted to. If you lost money, taxes wouldn't come into play at all because there's nothing to tax. You pay taxes strictly on profits. Maybe don't become an accountant. Sounds like it'd confuse the shit out of you.
