Whenever I need to explain Glasgow and Glaswegians to people, I point to the equestrian statue of Wellington in front of the Gallery of Modern Art. As a matter of civic pride, because Glaswegians don’t take themselves, or anyone else, too seriously, it has a traffic cone on its head. On a good day, the horse has one too.
Anyway, Banksy agrees, calling it his “favourite work of art in the UK”.
