A number of writers and business experts have emphasized that the radical transformations taking place in the world due to rapid technological progress, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, which has changed the rules of the game in various sectors, including business, are raising a big question that needs to be answered: 'Is artificial intelligence a threat to jobs or will it create new opportunities?' They pointed out that the answer to this question requires a deep look at this promising field. During a discussion session titled 'Business Management and Exploring the Present and Future', part of the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair, Abdullah Al-Hassawi, a writer and content creator specializing in entrepreneurship and author of 'Turning Ideas into Money', Nidal Sadik, a writer and executive director of a book publishing platform, and Abdulrahman bin Karam, dean of the College of Humanities at the European Middle East University, spoke about the issue. They noted that the hasty view drives some to believe that artificial intelligence will lead to the replacement of human labor in many routine tasks, pointing out that the truth lies in the fact that artificial intelligence will contribute to the development of jobs by automating repetitive tasks, allowing humans to focus on creative, critical thinking, and social skills tasks. Abdullah Al-Hassawi considered the idea of job loss due to artificial intelligence to be illogical, as modern technologies have created and will continue to create thousands of job opportunities. He pointed out that it is the nature of business development historically that some jobs disappear and new ones emerge, and the same applies to the emergence and dominance of modern technologies in all their forms, which have created a new and developed job market in line with these technologies. Nidal Sadik expressed optimism about the ability of modern technologies to simplify life, especially in dealing with big data, and their ability to save time and effort for humans, allowing them to focus on creative fields. He emphasized that human creativity will remain the highest and the main driver, and that the challenges that accompany these technologies can be overcome and harnessed. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Karam preferred to use the term 'creative intelligence' or 'innovative intelligence', as it is human-made, pointing out the need for educational institutions to adapt to the changes taking place in the world and develop human capabilities. He ruled out the possibility of what is known as the 'generational conflict', saying that young people are creators of the future and that technology will create new opportunities in the job market, and that humans are generally capable of adapting, emphasizing the need to prepare the human mind and for communities to be knowledge-based societies, as the current bet is on knowledge-based economies.
