i think i had a pretty cool ceremony. it was at midnight on halloween, on a cliff overlooking a churning sea in blistering cold winds, the officiant was also trans, there was a blood oath, and all the attendees were dogs.
but that was us being fucking awesome in defiance of a historically harmful system, and devotion to that institution is not a defining feature of our relationship
