R. just showed me pictures she took of a local kārearea (NZ Falcon) which was calling while flying high above Molesworth Street… then perching on the top of the crane that’s at the building site beside the cathedral. It had to take off when the crane started working again.
It was only a few hundred metres from the trees and steep slopes of Te Ahumairangi… but perhaps it hunts rock pigeons in town now?
