again, the point of OP_RETURN or witness data in this case is to make an offchain scaling solution, such as a rollup, that uses bitcoin to store proofs. this is exactly why lopp compared it to blobs.
if I were an ETH maxi I would harass anyone trying to build rollups on bitcoin. I would also obstruct any work being done on covenants. anything that keeps bitcoin limited to the lying notwork is good for ethereum.
people are going to play with meme tokens and build dapps that don't work, and others are going to build useful things that replace traditional financial instruments with something more disintermediated. it's permissionless and people can build whatever they like. this is going to happen whether you want it to or not. you can let this happen offchain in a way that pays into bitcoin's security budget, where every interaction is denominated in BTC and inherits the security of bitcoin's hashrate. or you can allow ethereum and solana to continue to exist. I think you are making the wrong decision.
