I get that Cloudflare sucks and we all want that shit gone, but de-federating between instances that do and do not use it just fragments mastodon and makes the whole ecosystem even worse.
Or, from another perspective, it makes Threads more appealing to someone looking from the outside.
This low-key reminds me of the historical cliche of the leftists too busy fighting each other while the right (e.g.: Gestapo) takes over.
