I think the context added from a personal experience is always interesting, but generally won't compell folks to revisit hardened opinions.

It would be interesting to see someone do deeper analysis of how to find the win-win solution for the parties involved.

As an example, 40 years ago, it would have been unfathomable to visit Belfast as a tourist. The 2 sides impacted by the Troubles generally held entrenched positions which fed the actions of extremists on both sides.

Today, it's a great tourist stop of you're in that region. Somehow Senator Mitchell et al. found a way to identify a win-win solution which both sides could sell to their supporters while maintaining face.

NB: These situations are NOT the same. Nobody rationally thinks that. The experiences and mindset of the NI Catholics were not the same as Palestinians. On the other hand, the process by which a MUTUALLY AGREED upon improved situation was found may have some applicability.

This is something that global leadership should have been constantly investigating for the past 25 years. It may take a thorough analysis by an independent thinker on an open platform to push the issue into the mainstream.

There is a win-win solution. There always is. It won't reveal itself easily, and will take more parties at the table than just Israel and the Palestinians. But there is a way.

I look forward to whatever you generate here.
