It's more the fact that if the government doesn't want you to be able to defend yourself, it is going to ban knives using such an excuse.
And right now the government doesn't want you to be able to anonymously send money to people. Until the government is changed, this is going to continue to be the case and any technology that tries to subvert their agenda will just get legislated into uselessness.
