In some countries when an autocrat takes over, they destroy or forge land deeds, and seize land. The reason you would put it on the blockchain, signed by the government of the time, is to create irrefutable, immutable proof of rightful ownership. Won’t stop jackbooted thugs, but at least the crime would be undeniable. Also useful in civil cases, if there is legal dispute over ownership, the decentralized ledger provides a record that corrupt third parties at the municipal office cannot alter.
