Putting words to feelings:
I spent the last decade+ putting things out into the public domain: code, research, security bugs etc. and overtime I feel I benefited from those actions 10-fold - both from the relationships I developed, and the tools and research and I had access too from others who did the same.
Recently, I've found myself more hesitant to release new things. My projects folder is full of prototypes/ drafts/notes that at one time I'd have put somewhere public.
And that sucks.
