Don't discount grid protection. The load for a large number of EVs is significant, and grid upgrades are typically planned alongside charging infrastructure.
If only there were charging tariffs that reduced cost for people willing to have their car act as a battery if necessary (and therefore give some of their charge to the local offtake or other vehicles, up to some limit set by the user)...
