I am conflicted about this. Part of me wants to have more isolationist policies for awhile - to heal, to bring back manufacturing, to get our financial house in order. And to improve our defenses from our border outwards...vs scattered across the globe unsustainably while other nations get to take a pass on their own security while imprisoning political opponents and censoring citizens.

Any charity worldwide needs to become charity at the whim, or heart, of the private citizen. We still support 3 kids through Compassion...and have been doing that for over 20 years now. But that doesn't mean our tax dollars should go support efforts that may conflict with personal views/ethics/ideologies/theologies...or regime changes.

We cannot take for granted that America has the biggest economy, the strongest currency, the most robust alliances, and the best military in the world and will always be that way. It would be unwise to believe these achievements are now permanent or owed to us in perpetuity because we are the United States of America, and because of that, we deserve the best circumstances. Our leaders cannot become complacent or reckless in the face of our many challenges in 2025.
