Disabled elder here. So you're armed. Good for you. The troubles that come from gun culture are far outweighed by the benefits. Guns make us equal. Without guns, the old, the weak, the small and the disabled are at the mercy of the the young, the strong, the big and the able-bodied.

I'm not in a wheelchair. That doesn't mean I'm not disabled. I'm 75 years old and a recent cancer survivor. I had triple bypass surgery a year and a half ago, followed by a stroke, a not uncommon side effect of triple bypass. My balance is wonky. I can't stand on one leg or walk a straight line without great difficulty. I still limp from a hit and run 50 years ago. Fisticuffs are no longer an option for me.

But even if I was in a wheelchair, no chud could kill me unless it's from behind and at a distance, because I'm armed. I'd kill him first. This sort of thing is a very real threat in my life. No, I'm not being paranoid. I'm being prudent.

I'm what Nazis call "race traitor." My (common law) wife of 40 years is a Jew. We have a couple thousand self-professed neo-Nazis within an hour's drive and nearly a thousand within walking distance. They say that they want to kill us both. We believe them. They have a track record.

In a GOP primary a few years ago, neo-Nazi Patrick Little, campaigning on a platform of Holocaust denial and ethnic cleansing, got 1,369 votes in Alameda County, 841 in SF and 1,249 in Contra Costa. That's a lot of neo-Nazis in what most of the country considers a hotbed of leftism. And that's just the ones who voted.

Their ideology demands they want both of us dead. To feel even slightly safe we keep keep a scattergun next our bed. And that's just the scattergun. We have other surprises in store for them, too.

Little lost in a landslide. Throughout the state he garnered "only" 89,867 votes. It was nowhere near enough to win an election, let alone a civil war, but it was a wakeup call for every anti-fascist, and not just in California. We have a serious problem on our hands. It's not a moral dilemma. It's a real dilemma.

How many conventional divisions would be enough to wage, let alone win Civil War II? It depends on how you count divisions. It varies from army to army. Either way it doesn't matter. It's not how many potential soldiers we must count. It's how many potential terrorists. Conventional armies are not the threat. The fascists don't have enough numbers to mount a civil war. They couldn't even fight a guerrilla war. Guerrillas require widespread popular support. They don't have it. What they do have is more potential "lone wolf" terrorists than they'll ever need. It only takes one individual to shoot up a synagogue, a grocery, or a Pride parade.

There is no such thing as a lone wolf, not in nature, not on the internet, not in real life. Wolves always run in packs. Fascist terrorists are no different. Stochastic terrorism on the internet and in the media bonds these misfit miscreants and motivates their actions. It makes them feel that they are part of something bigger than they are, something holy even. They even call their ultimate goal Racial Holy War, RaHoWa for short. They're a brainwashed, blood soaked death cult. They're our neighbors. They've been planning and preparing their rebellion for decades.

We ignore the threat they pose at our mortal peril. It's safe to assume that each of them owns at least one firearm. No fascist is unarmed. This is a lot like having a fascist army camped over the next hill. In a very real sense, it *is* having a fascist army camped over the next hill. As avid history buffs, my SO and I know what happens when a fascist army camps over the next hill and nothing is done about it. Short version: It's not pretty.
