I guess you and I are both at one end of the informed customer bell curve.

I've switched broadband twice since fibre came down my street in 2017. Second time was 100% seamless. First time there was a minor problem because I wanted to use my existing router, which had better WiFI than the ISP provided router, the fix was trivial.
