I don't necessarily disagree. Though it is certainly a reactive approach. Many times simply masking symptoms than attempting to address the root cause.

The root cause, in most cases (of course not all, in regards to rarities), boils down to lifestyle choices, environment, etc. But, as you said, it's easier to provide treatment than "curing" an ailment, which might mean a significant shift and effort on an individual's part in their own life when they could instead simply take a pill and call it a day.
