For those struggling with squash vine borers (SVB), I'm sharing what I learned in a bout of insomnia last night. Cucurbita moschata varieties of squash are naturally more SVB resistent--that includes butternut, cheese, tromboncino, & a few others. Also, the guy linked below is doing research into breeding SVB-resistant squash and sells his hardiness-selected seeds from the prior year in March.
