A side note, my friends and I were/are autistic so we all did research into our family trees to try to find cool ancestors to design our terrible oversouls off of. I'm so glad we never posted these online. Eternal cringe.
One of my favorite battle manga tropes is when a side character turns out to be overpowered. A good example was this guy from Shaman King.
