My brother collects bricks. Also a specific type of coffee maker (Atomic, they’re very cool) and 1940s-50s desk fans, and bakelite clocks.
Nana collected china bird ornaments. Guess who ended up with those? I like birds, I do. I have nowhere to display any collections. This is my main problem.
A friend of the family once came to my house in Canberra, noted the huge piles of books on every flat surface, and said “Yep, no doubt whose genes you have!” So maybe books? I’m trying to cut back, I haven’t bought one in ages. (The free libraries don’t count do they.)
Also trying to get rid of the vintage sewing machine collection and sort through the vast fabric accumulation.
So I have collected. And now I need to uncollect. And I’m still dealing with previous generations STUFF.
