During Covid, Watches had their biggest bull run in my lifetime, with values of over-the-counter modern steel watches, selling for double or triple retail.
The market has since encountered a dramatic correction, at least with regards to Rolex and some of the most common pieces from heavy hitters, like Patek and AP.
Either way, those are pieces. I was trying to avoid because the margins are the lowest as they are the most n-demand brands and every dealer had to offer competitive prices.
Alternatively, when you’re buying objectively, cool, but historically relevant vintage pieces in good condition you can set the prices and margins the way you like.
