Alright, time to clear this up: in science, a theory is not a guess. It’s a well-tested explanation of how things work, and is supported by tons of evidence and repeated testing, for example, gravity is a theory. What people usually mean when they misuse the term "theory" is actually "hypothesis," which is an educated guess. This is why it doesn't make sense to say something is "just a theory." Theories are tried and tested, reproducible, and are the best way to describe the world around us.
