Weidel is almost completely OK, she is very economically liberal and that distinguishes her from all other right-wing populists. The woman understands economics very well. However, her party, and especially their electorate, is not so fond of the free market. That's why I'm skeptical about the AfD, the only thing that makes them so popular is their stance on immigration.
The FDP is the only party in Germany that is consistently libertarian, pro-market and anti-socialist. Since the FDP has not passed the threshold, Merz will have to form a coalition with the Greens, which means none of the reforms that Germany needs so much at the moment. Only a government with the FDP could provide that. The Greens will block any pro-market policy, that's 100%. A government without the FDP means enormous damage for Germany.
