I did zucchini for the first time this year in a large pot and learned a lot.

1) one seed was more than enough, the first to sprout essentially killed the others.
2) one plant is more than enough zucchini for 2 people (I've had a steady flow of them and I think my kid wants to kill the plant)
3) one plant will throw roots thru any drain holes, so fall clean up will be fun
4) they get gigantic and beautifully tropical looking
5) it's easy to not see a zucchini in all the foliage and end up with one that is easily 14" long; zucchini bread works well to solve for this
6) the flowers are very pretty
7) lastly, ow. Why are they armed with spiky things?
