If you dual-boot Windows and if you've followed my guide on how to enable #SecureBoot on #Gentoo using the shim bootloader then chances are you've been affected by Microsoft SBAT update that revoked the stable version of shim. To fix this issue you'll need to update shim to the latest version (15.8).
Note that this should fix the issues on other distros too, but you'll need to find the right package and paths for your distro.
