in The Razor's Edge - and I'm not sure if it's a line in the book or only the movie - Larry says 'it's easy to be a holy man on top of a mountain'. And I'm reminded of Father Bob saying how Jesus is among the people. I'm sure there's great value in the contemplative life (I appreciate Thomas Merton's writings) but a practice must encompass the hurly-burly of everyday life if it is to have any real worth.
