I'll give credit where it's due, this is exactly what I've been saying to the "Israel has a right to defend itself" crowd. Even just from the perspective of self-interest, a brutal military response to terrorism is playing right into Hamas' hands. For them, this is better than any recruitment efforts they could have ever accomplished on their own.
You want to uproot Hamas? Really cut the head off the snake? Give the people of Gaza a better alternative.
