I never rebalance directly. I just raise the fees on channels that have a high remote balance and lower the fees on channels that have a high local balance, allowing routing to balance them naturally over time.
I never had success with the Thunderhub rebalance tool, but when I still balanced manually BoS was the only thing that worked for me:
