Ian and Reid have a sick admiration for each other's ruthlessness. They don't *approve* per se, so much as they're both Machiavellian types on different ends of the political spectrum. If times were normal, they'd snipe at each other at parties or play a match of charity golf. which Ian would lose because fuck golf. Instead, their rivalry burns down the country.
