I can tell this is going to be a fucking nightmare because whichever private org buys it is going to have a near complete monopoly on the Western supply of helium.
also, when it runs out, it's gone forever. helium just fucks off into space once it's in the atmosphere, so we're reliant on trapped gas.
we can't practically synthesise helium and all the "we'll do it with fusion!" claims are predicated on that actually working in a cost-effective manner... the research for which requires helium.
