So, my coop applied to NYS to approve a $141.07/room maintenance increase, but NYS being who they are, they decided that $141.07 wasn't enough and it should be $148.05/room. I'm looking at an increase in the neighborhood of $667/month starting next month.
Seniors are protected from this by NYC's SCRIE program (Senior Citizen Rental Increase Exemption). It's going to be fun watching all of the U-hauls and moving trucks this summer.
