Randy has made some nice progress with Obi. He spends time sitting outside with Obi (in the cold!) and Obi genuinely likes his company. Randy noticed that Obi was interested in the shoelaces on his sneakers, so he took an old shoelace outside to see whether Obi would play with it.
At first, Obi was afraid and unsure, but Randy carefully enticed him with it. Now Obi is enthusiastic about playing with the string. I’m willing to bet this is the first time a human has ever played with him.
The whacking continues, but Randy managed to give Obi a few scritchies on the head without getting whacked. Obi has a long way to go to get over his belief that HANDS ARE EVIL. We’re taking it slowly.
