This might help you; I disagree with Xeno's CI interpretation. Your interpretation isn't logically necessitated here, however. And no matter how hard you try to 'plain reading' it, you are not going to fit that square logical peg into that round hole. So again, what confuses you? Is it because the grammar has an if?
