Idk your situation, but with my wife's sister the family has collectively given up and now everytime she has a melt down it's shoulder shrugs all the way down.
Same thing with one of my cousins that can't get it together.
We've stopped worrying about them and started focusing on making sure the kids don't turn into train wrecks.
