I like to do a check with anything I buy that throws lead before I really use it- clear the firearm, cock it as though I'm dry firing, and drop it a few times. Usually on thin carpet hardwood so I don't destroy the finish like a fuckwit. Never had an issue.
I suspect poor maintenance may play a role in these lawsuits.
