Every now and then I am reminded that I once accidentally invented an absurdist cliche.
I had never heard a particular sexist euphemism for making a u-turn, and responded by saying that was as meaningless as "twisting the pelican" to me.
I then spent more than a year trying to figure out what it might mean. Something odd would happen, and I'd wonder aloud of this was twisting the pelican.
An acquaintance overheard this, and documented the phrase to baffle the future:
