Today, the 36th and final post in the current marathon sequence tracing the cars in the direct line of descent from the 1949 Triumph Mayflower. This one’s a sort of footnote. I saw this obscure car - I’d forgotten it existed - at the Practical Classics Restoration show on Saturday. Meet the Rover 25 GTI, briefly sold as the fastest version of the R3 between the Rover 200 BRM bowing out and the arrival of the MG ZR in 2011. The last ever ‘sporty’ Rover.
