That article about "Active Listening" advertisement that Cox Media Group claims by 404 media bothers me, because I it's paywalled and I haven't seen anyone actually investigating the claims.
There is this claim by cox, that they could do active-listening ads, but I haven't seen anyone trying to catch them red handed e.g. by seeing the usage of the microphone permissions when the app is running or alike. Instead a lot of reproduction of the marketing slide statement with no proof.
