Mastodon could be a lot of things for a lot of people which is great but for people who wanted/needed it to be informative, I think this is a pretty reasonable and common path that Thomas took. And if we want it to be a real Twitter alternative, there should be more thought put into this beyond sheer force of will, i.e. posting through it, and shaming people who go back. I'm not saying anger at Twitter is unjustified but anger isn't going to get people to alternatives.
