The Power of Protection: A Life-Changing Lesson
Life can change in an instant. That's a lesson I learned far too young. When I was 17, my 13-year-old sister was tragically killed by a drunk driver. In the blink of an eye, our family of six became five, and the weight of grief threatened to tear us apart and consume us.
Those were some of the darkest days of our lives. Yet, amidst the devastation, there was a glimmer of hope. My parents, with remarkable foresight, had secured life insurance for our family. This crucial protection provided a financial lifeline during a time when everything else felt like it was falling apart (divorces, depression and self-distructive behaviors).
The life insurance meant more than just financial security. It allowed my parents to grieve without the added burden of crippling debt. My sisters graduated college debt-free, and my parents were able to ease back on their work schedules, eventually even retiring early. My father pursued his passion for farming, and my mother found solace in getting involved with her church community.
We would all give anything to have our sister back. But the life insurance ensured that the tragedy didn't leave us financially and emotionally broken as well. It allowed our family to heal, to rebuild, and to redefine what "normal" meant for us.
Finding Purpose in Protection
Leaving my corporate job wasn't just about filling time; it was about finding purpose. I wanted to do something that mattered, something that could help others coping with the devastation my family faced.
Entering the life and health insurance industry wasn't a random choice. It was a conscious decision, fueled by a desire to make a difference. I believe in the power of life insurance to protect families and offer them peace of mind. Every day, I have the privilege of helping people prepare for the unexpected, and knowing that I'm playing a role in securing their future is incredibly rewarding.
The best part of my week is when I get the opportunity to educate my family, cousins, aunts, new parents on how and why they should learn about and consider #LifeInusrance protection. Matters not whether they do or don't buy a policy. Get the information to make sound decision!
We have that responsibility as head of our house.
