I find it especially tragic that so many people in Academia are 1) actually contributing to this confusion between ML and LLMs intentionally by using the big AI buzzword just to get some extra funding and 2) so so many people who should know better have actually started using AI slop in paper writing and even in the research workflow in a completely acritical way",
