Italy plans to raise capital gains tax on Bitcoin to a staggering 42% from its already infuriating 26%. I repeat, the government is forcefully expropriating people of nearly half of the money they make, while simultaneously implementing ridiculous #KYC procedures, that make it as cumbersome as possible to even acquire #BTC to begin with.
If this sentiment makes waves across Europe, the EU will effectively push crypto into the shadows and might as well straight-out "ban" it entirely.
Judging by the sprawling corruption in Italy's government, as well as the EU, this feels like a money-grab in plain sight.
