I've never been a fan of Gee since I was in grad school at Ohio State. The school did not pay us TAs on time (and our rents were overdue!); Gee said repeatedly he had an open door policy for students, so I went to politely complain. He refused to see me and he (apparently) told my Chair to threaten me if I ever "pulled a stunt like that again."
