npub1smcrad23rg8qhptt5ep7ptt593lta8gwrp8zxtfl6pjprwxp5hnsnvlkwf (npub1smc…lkwf) I agree that they're independent and that there's something interesting about reduced durability in the cases where that's true (not cars!), but the stuff that goes viral tends to be these rants that lump in durability and useful lifetime and then make really wrong comments about the useful lifetime, and I think it's also useful to note that the useful lifetime or useful lifetime per dollar has not gotten worse for a lot (most? almost all?) of these items.
