The nut cases winning office and passing Internet troll own the libs legislation is popular with Republican primary voters, but probably only sustainable if they can gerrymander a massive sustained advantage. Most people are centrist. Democrats arguably went too far to the left, but Republicans are now going so far to the right it's off the charts.
