closest I found is studies proofing that recall of information in one content type is easier for people with lower working memory. another study seems to find that slower processing, more reading, improves recall.
however, people with higher working memory do not profit from a specific presentations.
another study seems to show that electronic versus paper makes no difference in quality of recall.
however interest and engagement is more important than presentation. interestingly a mix of engaging topics and boring topics seems to work best, with engaging topics freeing up processing power for the boring stuff.
