A friend is fretting about inviting her trans cousin to her baby shower. It’s an all female shower and her cousin doesn’t pass in the slightest and this is new. Of course, she’s afraid that the older women on the other side of her family might not recognize that her cousin wants to be seen as a woman. 😬

I reminded her that her cousin probably won’t want to come anyway because ‘dysphoria’ (jealousy) and that she can’t control other people’s reactions. I did not tell her that her cousin is probably gonna be an ass about being invited in some manner if he comes, about her baby being a girl, and her ‘gendering’ her own baby. She has no idea the can of worms she’s potentially opened.
