Being a a healthy loving relationship has shown me just how abusive my ex-wife was towards me.
Not just the obvious stuff like throwing things at disagreements or arguments nor her screaming at me that she didn't love me or want a divorce.
This relationship has revealed hidden abuse that I didn't know was happening, that I was secluded emotionally because of her, how when I would open up like my ex wanted I was met with ridicule and scorn. I never even revealed my political standing with my ex for fear of her wrath.
But with my current gf she appreciates me and loves me more when I open up about insecurities and concerns that I am having or struggling with.
It is very refreshing and healing, I don't have to hide anything from her.
